To celebrate the launch of the Spear Series, ŞENER BESIM has invited Oigall Projects to curate an installation of contemporary designer furniture inspired by the new jewellery series in our Armadale store.
The Spear Series continues the ŞENER BESIM fascination with the art, architecture and ornamentation of the ancient Ottoman Empire. The new Spear jewellery collection celebrates the simple power and refined geometric shapes found in Ottoman architecture. The result is a timeless range of jewellery imbued with strength, protectiveness, and a sense of emotional well-being.
Creative collaborations are central to the ŞENER BESIM luxury brand. “We see experimentation, design integrity, connectedness and an ongoing process of collaboration with like-minded artists, photographers, architects and designers as integral to the Sener Besim brand identity.” - Şener Besim
OIGALL PROJECTS
Harnessed by a playful and inventive spirit, Oigåll Projects is an independent showroom and gallery space in Melbourne’s Gertrude Street Fitzroy offering artists and designers a space to exhibit experimental design, artwork and objects in a non-commercial setting. Established in 2021 the project is buoyed by ‘explorative’ spirit – a tender reference to the attitudes of its namesake.
CORDON SALON
Cordon Salon is a studio that uses research, collaboration and experimentation as a method to speculate on alternative approaches to contemporary art, craft and design. Founded by Ella Saddington in 2018, the studio works across collectable furniture and object design, often focusing on overlooked, forgotten or ubiquitous processes and materials, in which re-imagined are shown again in a different light. Cordon Salon has exhibited at Sophie Gannon Gallery, Oigall Projects, Craft Victoria and The Ian Potter Centre: NGV Australia as part of Melbourne Now.
